Hi there. If I wasn’t a scientist, I would love to be a wild-life photographer. Either that or a pastry chef, only problem with the second option is that I would eat most (really all!) of the baked yumminess. I wouldn’t make much of a profit, so photographer it is.hehehe

I must admit, I still haven’t given up on this dream, so keep an eye out… I would love to direct or write movies. I’ve been keen on creative writing even longer than I’ve liked science, so it’s always in the back of my mind!
Maybe I can do both…?

A couple of things potentially.
1) Id be working in sport – basketball.
I am SUPER obsessed with my local NBL team, the Townsville Crocs. I’ve watched them my whole life, and until a couple of months ago I actually worked with them a bit… amongst other things I was their mascot! If I wasn’t a scientist, I’d love to be working with them building the team, getting it out there to the public, and making the experience awesome for the people that watch.
2) I’d be running my own business.
Just as I have started sciengage, I have had a few business ideas. I think about where gaps lie in different markets and products, and what would go well in that gap. I’d love to put one of those ideas in place and build the business up. It’s a VERY hard slog though. My girlfriend as built a couple of businesses from the ground up, and it’s long hours for little money in the first couple of months to years. Maybe one day I’ll make it happen yet, who knows.

I was very close to becoming a science teacher in schools!! And I may still head that way if my University decides not to re-new my contract next year! I also like meeting people and selling things (as a scientists, I sell ideas!) so perhaps I would go back to selling Cars (which I did part time as a Uni student!) or maybe houses?
