Question: If Saturn was put in a giant bath full of water, would it sink, float or dissolve?

    Hey mattscientist another awesome question!

    YES, Saturn would float on water! It is mostly made up of gas, so it is lighter (less dense) than water. Although you would need a LOT of water! There are some places that argue that no the planet would not float, but if we don’t get super technical then yes it’s possible! Here are some other cool facts about Saturn:

    WOW! Can you imagine the size of that bathtub? I’m about 182cm tall and I don’t fit into a bathtub! Good luck to us fitting Saturn in!!!
    Apparently Saturn has the lowest density of all the planets in our solar system, which means that it does not weigh as much for its size as the other planets do. It is as Sam said mostly made out of gas, so yeah it should float.

    Like the others said, it’d float!

    But there wouldn’t be enough room left in the tub for a rubber duck.
