I have written about it in my profile ansho, which you can read on this site!
But to sum it up really quickly I do a LOT. I read articles on the science I am working on, I might do anywhere from 1-10 experiments, I make sure we have all the chemicals in the lab we need, I write articles about my science work, and I run my website sciengage.com.au! Phew!
Ansho my average day at work involved getting into work with a cup of coffee and a bagel in hand. I check my emails first and look for new science papers that may have could out in my topic of interest or others. I go for a walk around the lab and stretch! I pick up a paper and plan a few experiments. I have lunch and go for a walk. I read more emails, I continue my experiments. I might talk to my boss and there is always time for friends. 🙂 Some days I also teach 20 year olds about why microbes and germs are simply amazing! There are days when I also have to go to a lot of meetings and seminars, which are basically presentations by visiting scientist from all over the world. ya! that is my average day! 😀
answering emails, reading articles about science, performing experiments, discussing results (which is fun), drinking tea, having lunch and eating chocolate (just a small amount ; )
An average day of work for me usually involves setting up machines to run experiments for me. There can be a lot of standing around waiting, so we usually find weird little games to play, sometimes even Truth or Dare!
Other than that, lots of reading, sometimes some writing, and on really great days, looking at crystals through microscopes. : )
