Lara epic question! This is a topic that still has many scientist arguing over it hehe so this is my understanding of it. Water contains gases like oxygen and carbon dioxide, that is how fish can survive. So when you boil water, you lose a fair bit of of these gasses, its like making a soft drink go flat. By losing these gasses in your boiled water, it makes the water cool much faster because the water is in some ways more pure now and cools at fast rates unlike the cold water! But keep in mind the answer is still not settled in the science community! Some scientist agree to disagree hehehe
I definitely agree with Mia that if you boil water to remove any impurities, it’ll probably cool down and freeze faster than water with a bunch of stuff in it. Stuff gets in the way. Silly stuff.
*But* if you have two samples of identically pure water, one hot and one cold, the cold one will freeze first!
Freezing happens when energy (in this case, heat energy) is removed from the water. If the water is hot, you have more energy to remove, therefore it’ll take a bit longer!
But hey, don’t take our word on it, you should do an experiment! If you have a freezer and a clock, you can test it and let us know which froze first!

Haha, this is a controversial one!
