There is a lot of research out there at looks at Genes and blindness. There are a few forms of Blindness that are caused by quite a few different things. Scientist have found potential genes that cause blindness in new born babies.Quite a few forms of blindness we can inherit from mum and dad and scientist have look into at least 242 different genetic disorders, with 202 different genes were identified that can lead to blindness. 202 genes! Amazing isn’t it? 🙂
I have an inherited mild blindness and when I was thinking about doing science, I was interested in a topic that looks at Blindness cause by a gene and protein that gives older people something called Cataracts.
