Hi malum, cells die if they receive instructions to. This could be because they are damaged or because they are no longer needed because new cells are being made. Once a cell is found as not needed enzymes are turned on to break down the cell. This is a very controlled process though! So only cells that need to be removed are! Which is great to know!
